Pennsylvania’s longest remaining covered bridge, the Pomeroy Academia Covered Bridge is one of Juniata County’s four remaining covered bridges. Built in 1902, the 272’ 9” double span bridge was fully restored a decade ago. The bridge crosses the Tuscarora Creek near Academia, and is accessible to the public.
Juniata County is home to one of the area’s largest attractions – the Port Royal Speedway, located on the Juniata County Fairgrounds. This oval dirt track hosts sprint, late model, and pro-stock racing on Saturday nights, attracting tens of thousands of enthusiasts each year.
