Both Juniata and Mifflin counties benefit from an excellent transportation system. Route 322, which connects the area to the state capital, Harrisburg, to the south and to State College and Penn State University to the north, has been dramatically upgraded over the past 15 years.

Locally, Amtrak trains and freight trains share the same track, connecting to points throughout the northeast and midwest, while Juniata Valley Railroad offers local businesses access to rail freight.

Both counties have small airports, accessible to single-engine aircraft. Mifflin County’s airport also hosts frequent glider competitions, offering excellent sailing opportunities thanks to the thermals coming off the ridges that line our valleys.
